The "Ski Ambassador" program was implemented in 1975. The program allowed Hughes Airwest Employees the opportunity of travelling to and from Twin Falls, gateway for Sun Valley onboard the Saturday special "Ski Charters" acting as goodwill ambassadors. In ;ate March of that year, the "Lange Cup" made a stop at Sun Valley and the Ski Ambassadors were invited to participate in a special race as part of the weekend festivities. Each "Ambassador" was part of a team that was made up of a professional skier, a celebrety and an employee from Sun Valley. the teams were "auctioned off" on Friday night at a party at the Sun Valley Lodge with the procedes going to charity. Saturday was race day and what a race it was!. |
