1977, Hughes Airwest partnered with it's long time friend,
Sunset Magazine (Sunset Films) to develop and produce
a 16MM film dedicated to the employees of Hughes Airwest.
The mission of the film (a little over 40 minutes
in length)was three fold:
1.
A "THANK YOU" for six straight years
of profitability.
2. Information
about plans for the future.
3.
Introduction of the new "YES" advertising
campaign.
Russ Stephenson opens the film by talking
about our past, present, and future. Next comes
the introduction of the "YES" campaign including
the new radio and TV commercials. Finally we are treated
to a trip around the system with film shots of and commentary
by many Hughes Airwest employees and some of our customers
as well. If you were not in this film, we feel
certain that you knew and worked with someone that was!
There is also GREAT aerial footage
shot by chase aircraft of both DC-9s and
our brand new Flagship B727-200s.
RW
- The Movie is available in VHS video tape
format and now in DVD format
as well Both formats have been professionally duplicated and color
enhanced. The advantage of DVD (if you have a
DVD player) is a clearer picture and never
any worry of tape deteriation, DVD is digital
and it lasts forever.

29 minute video done by West
Coast in 1966 (prior to the merger) entitled
"Momentum."
A 20 minute segment filmed by Republic
in 1983 and narrated by Travis Tanner dealing with new fall
promotional fares.
A
20 minute segment all about Business
Coach narrated by Jim Palm and Jean Caselli. Business Coach was an innovation
of Hughes Airwest
in 1977 and was chronicled in RW - The
Movie.
