John Clayton Cassedy, "Jack" to all who knew him, passed away on December 21, 2004, from complications following heart surgery in Phoenix, AZ. Jack was born in San Francisco on May 18, 1930. Jack attended St. Joseph's elementary, Lincoln High School ('48), and San Jose State ('53). Jack was ROTC and Theta Chi at San Jose State. Jack served in the United States Air Force from 1953 to 1957, and continued in the Reserves while he pursued his career as a commercial airline pilot. Jack joined Pacific Airlines in November 1958 and retired with Northwest Airlines in May 1990.
Jack had four daughters from his first marriage and remarried Barbara Oehler on September 11, 1979. They celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary in September 2004 in Colorado. He and Barbara enjoyed homes in Scottsdale, Flagstaff and Wickenburg where he enjoyed his love of running, gardening and animals.
Jack always had a hearty laugh and a repertoire of wonderful stories. He graced all of us with his warm spirit and enthusiastic love of life. He will be missed by his wife, Barbara, his mother, his daughters, grandchildren and many longtime friends.
